PAOLO MARCOLONGO
Paolo Marcolongo is an artist and sculptor who is creating original, exciting art jewelry and objects in blown Murano glass and metal. His rings, necklaces and brooches are remarkable forms combined with exciting and experimental color possibilities to achieve these spontaneous-yet-not works. As he notes, “Those are very fast but really strong moments, where the blow and the eye play a very decisive role on the artefact.” Out of this instant of hot glass, breath and iteration, these collectors’ rings are born.
Paolo Marcolongo is an artist, sculptor, curator and teacher. He studied sculpture at Venice Art Academy, taught from 1984 to 1996 at the Pietro Selvatico school, and since 1996 the Padua Art State School ‘Amedeo Modigliani’. From 1996 to 1998 he was the curator of “Pd 362”, an Art gallery of contemporary jewels in Padua. From 1996 to 2002 he organized International Summer Workshops on the contemporary jewel for the Cultural Association “La Corte”, at Sambruson-Dolo (Venice), inviting several famous artists to hold classes.
